Product questions

Cloisonné is also called real enamel, real hard enamel or hard enamel.

Cloisonné This is an ancient craftsmanship that originated in the 19th century BC. The ancient cloisonné production process is complicated. Modern cloisonné production process has been simplified and used it to produce commonly used gifts, such as badges, key rings, and medals etc…

That is 5 big steps for making cloisonné products, metal forming, coloring, sintering, polishing and plating.

Metal forming: The copper or brass is extruded out of a mold or cast into the shape of the product.

Coloring: Cloisonné is an opaque or semi-transparent glossy substance made of raw materials such as lead red, borate, glass powder, etc. It is added with different oxidized metals to become different colors. The melted enamel becomes solid after cooling and before filling it, it is ground into a fine powder and mixed with water.  Then fill color powder into the recessed area of the metal.

Sintering: Using Celsius 800-1000 degrees high temperature sintering to melt the powdery cloisonné.

Polishing: The surface of the baked product is uneven and must be polished and polished.

Plating: The purpose of plating is to keep the metal from corroding and rusting and also to make the utensils brighter as new.

Imitation hard enamel also named Imitation Cloisonné, Hard Enamel or New Enamel.

Imitation hard enamel is another colored material. The choice of color is more diverse than Cloisonné and the texture and color can be made similar to Cloisonné. The metal lines of Imitation hard enamel product are relatively thin and the composition is diverse and delicate and has many advantages.

Imitation hard enamel product can be made from copper, brass or zinc alloy material.  After engraving mold and stamping shape, we can fill colored Imitation hard enamel on recessed metal area.  Imitation hard enamel is paste colored resin, no need to add epxoy, but also can add gold glitter powder presents different effects.

The jacquard lanyard is woven into long strap with 150D to 300D yarns.  It could not present detail or complex image.  The texture of jacquard lanyard is thicker and harder and can be made by 2 layers.  The lanyard border on both sides is with overlock processing.

overlock

The fine woven lanyard is woven from 70D to 75D yarns to make a whole cloth then cut into long straps. It can present more detail and complex image.  The texture of fine woven lanyard is thinner and softer and just can be made by 1  layer only.  The lanyard border on both sides is without overlock processing.

Black nickel is a plating layer that integrates nickel, zinc, sulfur and organic matter.  The black nickel layer has a good matting effect. The hardness of black nickel plating is higher than galvanized black passivation layer and copper oxide layer. It also has good corrosion resistance.

The raw material of electrophoretic black is an electrophoretic paint.  It also called electrophoretic paint coating.  Electrophoresis: In the colloidal solution, the charged colloidal ions dispersed in the medium move towards the electrode with different kinds of charges under the action of the DC electric field. Because the colloidal ions are resisted by the dispersion medium during the movement, it is opposite to the true solution in the electric field. The resistance of ion migration is much larger, and the movement speed is slower, just like swimming in a dispersion medium, so it is called electrophoresis.

Why can’t the black nickel plating produce a very black color like electrophoretic black?

The electroplating surface is a thin film layer but the electrophoretic surface is a paint layer.  Therefore electrophoretic black is darker than electroplating black nickel.  If you need metal part to be very black color, then we have to make product by electrophoretic black not nickel plating.

If you need to cancel the order after placing it, please contact our sales staff immediately. The sales staff will confirm the progress of the order right away. If the order has not been arranged (the raw material hasn’t been bought; mold or set up film hasn’t been made), then we can cancel the order for you for free. If the production has already been carried out, then the cost will be charged according to the progress of the production.

When you place an order, you must provide a design file of any of the following specifications.

  1. Vector design files, such as .ai or .cdr or .pdf files. Please make sure the design is vector image not picture image.
  2. If you are unable to provide a vector design file to us. Please be sure to provide a .jpg artwork that quality is higher than 300dpi.

When making a product, if the filling color or printing color is a designated Pantone color number, then the color of the product must conform to the color of the Pantone color chart. However, sometimes in order to save freight or time, customers will ask to use photos to confirm the sample effect immediately, but when using photos to confirm the effect, you need to pay special attention to that thee color on the screen is for reference only, because every monitor will have color difference. Therefore, even the same product will have different color rendering effects in different monitors. Whether it’s a mobile phone, tablet, laptop or desktop monitor, different brands will have different degrees of color difference, some are colder, some are warmer, so you can’t take the color from the monitor as real product colors. So, how can we ensure that the color is correct through the photo? If our customer requires to confirm product color by photo, we will take a photo of the color chart and the product at the same time (in the same photo), as long as the color of the product is consistent with the Pantone color chart on the monitor, no matter the color difference of the monitors, it can be ensured that the product color is consistent with the color chart. However, please note that since the colors are all handmade mixed, the color of each batch of products will be a little different, but the color will be controlled within +/-10%. Regarding the production tolerance, please see Why is tolerance necessary in production?

Tolerance is necessary in the production process. From the beginning of the artwork to the completion of the product, each production step will have the tolerance requirements it needs. No matter it is in making molds, product forming, coloring or printing, electroplating, fitting position… etc.

Tolerance is to formulate a range of allowable variation, within this range of variation, the product characteristics will not be affected, and the quality of the product will not be reduced. The measurement difference within this specified range is called tolerance. For any processing, there must be processing difference. The smaller the difference is, the higher the accuracy it has. The better of the quality, the higher of the cost.

Therefore, under the premise of meeting the requirements of use, choosing a reasonable machining accuracy requires specifying tolerances. Tolerance is the allowable difference of production.

Size Tolerance

From the artwork to the production of the mold, the fineness that can be presented is also different due to the molding cutter. So even if the same artwork is produced by different suppliers, it will be slightly different and cannot be completely consistent. Furthermore, if the product is stoned and polished, the size will change as well.

Color Difference

No matter soft enamel or imitation hard enamel, the paint colors are all handmade mixed. Therefore colors for every batch will have slightly difference.

While every effort has been made to copy artwork provided certain pantones have tolerance of -10/+10% color variation.

Plating Color Difference

Plating is to place the product in an electroplating solution and undergo a chemical change to coat the surface of the product with a layer of electroplating color. Since there is no way to make the same plating solution manually every time, the color of each batch will also have some difference.

Fitting Position Difference

The assembly of product accessories is also manual work, so the position cannot be 100% accurate when attaching the back accessories.

Import taxes and duty are the import-related fees charged by your country for importing domestic goods. The amount of this fee varies according to the tax rate established by each country, so we cannot charge you this fee in advance. This fee is collected by the Customs of your country, and customs duties will be collected by the express company (DHL. UPS. FedEx. TNT) when the package is delivered.

The molds and set up film you’ve ordered from our company have a guarantee period of two years for molds and one year for set up film. During this period, if the mold or film is damaged, our company will remake it for you freely. However, if the guarantee period is expired, you will need to be charged this fee again. Both the mold and the setup film have their lifespan. The more frequently they are used, the higher the loss rate occur and also easier to get damage. If the mold and setup film still can be used after the guarantee period, we will not charge you again for it, but if they are no longer available for production, they will need to be remade.

When we complete the shipment of the order, we will provide the tracking number for you to track the package. Please check whether the goods you received are correct within one month after receiving the package.
